Brynjar
   Sigurðarson

Icelandic designer and artist Brynjar Sigurðarson bridges design, storytelling and sculpture. Moving between poetry and materiality, he draws on Icelandic landscapes, crafts and folklore. Working between the real and the imaginary, he records and archives stories as a way to sharpen his eye for what might otherwise go unnoticed. A graduate of the Iceland University of the Arts and ECAL Lausanne, he has, since 2014, collaborated with Veronika Sedlmair as Studio Brynjar & Veronika. Their work has been exhibited at Galerie Kreo, the Design Museum Helsinki, Röhsska Museum and Hafnarborg, and is held in international museum collections. Projects include Spectrum, a multicoloured glass work developed at CIRVA Marseille; The Circle Flute, used by Björk on her Cornucopia tour; and Haug, a bronze figure in Germany that emits a rainbow in sunlight.

Meet
   Sly, Floppy
   and Doopy

These are the first seven figures in a growing family of supernatural characters, presented as a limited edition of collectible cards. “The supernatural is natural,” says Brynjar Sigurðarson, who conceived Sly, Floppy, Doopy and their peculiar companions. Each figure tells a story and functions as a talisman, embodying a distinct yet quiet power: calming restless minds, sparking courage or curiosity, awakening laughter. Mischievous yet kind, they remind us that the modern world still hums with unseen presences – if we pause long enough to notice them.
